Privacy
Effective October 25, 2026.
CenterScreen is operated by Serviette, LLC (“Serviette,” “we” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what CenterScreen collects, how we use and share it, and how long we keep it. It applies to centerscreen.app, the CenterScreen iPhone and Android apps and the Chrome companion. Questions about your data can be sent to hello@centerscreen.app. Use of CenterScreen is also governed by our Terms of Service.
YouTube and Google
CenterScreen is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google. CenterScreen retrieves videos and related information from YouTube. When you use CenterScreen to watch or browse YouTube content, Google receives requests for that content and processes information under the Google Privacy Policy, and you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms). We do not control what Google collects. You can review or revoke third-party access to your Google account at Google’s security settings.
Account sign-in
You can use Apple or Google to identify your CenterScreen account. We store the provider account identifier, name and email, and a profile picture if supplied. Sign in with Apple supports Apple’s private relay email. Apple credentials used to revoke account access are encrypted in server storage and are revoked during account deletion. Linking another sign-in method requires authentication to the existing account; matching email addresses alone never links accounts.
Google sign-in requests only basic identity permissions. Neither sign-in method grants access to your YouTube recommendations, history, Gmail or Drive. Pairing and sharing public video links do not require a separate YouTube connection. CenterScreen never asks you to type your Google password into CenterScreen.
Your activity and session
We store sign-in events and session information including IP address and browser. We do not keep a history of the videos you play or search for: a video’s identifier is used to start playback and is not saved to your account, except in the queue and now-playing state of a paired screen and the last two videos it played with where each stopped (shown as Continue watching on that screen), which you control and which are erased when the screen is removed. Session cookies keep you signed in for up to 90 days and can be renewed while you use the app. Signing out revokes that session.
When you search or browse YouTube on a screen, your search terms and requests are sent to YouTube to get results. We briefly cache copies of the YouTube results you request, such as search results, watch pages, channels, Shorts and, if connected, your Home and library feeds, with your account so pages load quickly. These copies, including the search terms they were requested with, are used for at most one minute and are deleted within an hour, or sooner when you choose Disconnect YouTube everywhere or delete your account.
Optional YouTube connection
If you separately connect a YouTube web session, we encrypt its credentials and briefly cache the feeds you request, as described above. The app reads those feeds; a YouTube session itself carries broader account access. CenterScreen only reads from YouTube and does not post, like, subscribe or change your YouTube data. Google sign-in alone does not create this connection.
Optional YouTube OAuth connection
If you authorize YouTube access through Google, CenterScreen encrypts your access and refresh tokens in Cloudflare storage for your account. The initial test requests read-only access. If YouTube rejects that scope for its TV feeds, a separate optional consent screen can request “Manage your YouTube account.” That broader permission can change YouTube data, even though CenterScreen’s experiment only sends read requests. Declining it preserves the existing connection. Refresh tokens allow the server to renew access without your browser running. This experimental connection is used to test access to personalized feeds. Disconnect YouTube everywhere to remove the stored tokens, or revoke CenterScreen through your Google account to cancel the Google authorization.
Chrome companion
Pairing is optional. After you confirm, the companion sends only allowlisted YouTube session cookies to centerscreen.app over HTTPS. It never reads cookies for Google, Gmail or unrelated sites. The server encrypts the YouTube session for your account. A separate upload-only pairing token is stored in the extension and hashed on the server. It cannot sign in to CenterScreen or read your feeds.
While Chrome runs, the companion refreshes the connection every six hours and after YouTube cookies change. Pairing expires after 90 days without a successful refresh. Google can revoke its own session sooner. Revoke a browser to stop future updates, or choose Disconnect YouTube everywhere to remove the saved YouTube session, cached feeds and every pairing. Signing out of CenterScreen ends that app session; it does not disconnect the companion.
Paired screens and sharing
We store a screen identifier, name, enrollment expiry and last connection time for each paired screen. A new screen is named from its browser type (for example “Tesla screen” or “Chrome screen”); this label is only for display and never grants access. A renewable credential keeps a trusted screen paired across visits for up to a year, renewed while in use. A screen that has not connected for 90 days is automatically revoked and must be paired again. Revoking a screen ends that access and erases its saved queue and playback state.
To diagnose playback problems, a paired screen may report playback health counters (such as stalls, errors and buffering), the video identifier being played and its browser user agent. These reports are written to Cloudflare Workers logs for troubleshooting and are not stored in the CenterScreen database.
The iPhone Share Extension receives only the video link you explicitly share and uses a separate seven-day credential to list your paired screens and send a video. This credential cannot read your account or billing information. Opening the app renews it; signing out revokes the phone and its sharing access.
Billing
Eligible users of the CenterScreen iPhone and Android apps in the United States can open Stripe Checkout in their external browser. Stripe processes payment details under its own privacy policy; we share your account email and an internal account identifier with Stripe to create your billing record. CenterScreen stores Stripe customer and transaction identifiers, amounts, purchase/subscription status and preview usage on Cloudflare to synchronize access. CenterScreen does not store card or bank credentials. Payment confirmation, refunds and disputes update access through server-side verification. A checkout return page does not prove payment.
How we use and share information
We use the information above to provide, secure and support CenterScreen, to process purchases and keep billing records, to prevent fraud and abuse, to troubleshoot problems, and to comply with law. We share it only with service providers that operate CenterScreen for us (Cloudflare for hosting and storage, Stripe for payments, and Apple and Google for sign-in), with YouTube and Google when we request content for you, when required by law or to protect rights and safety, and with a successor in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for targeted advertising.
Storage and services
Account data, sessions and saved feeds are stored on Cloudflare. Google handles Google sign-in and Apple handles Sign in with Apple. Requests for videos and thumbnails reach YouTube or Google services. Cloudflare keeps operational request and error logs for the CenterScreen service under its Workers Logs retention, currently up to 7 days. This app does not contain advertising or third-party analytics trackers.
How long we keep data
Data stays stored while your account exists, except as follows:
- Expired sign-in sessions are deleted 30 days after they expire.
- Revoked or expired phones and screens are deleted 90 days after revocation or expiry, once any screen’s saved state has been erased.
- Sign-in activity records are deleted after one year. Cached YouTube results are deleted within an hour.
- Unfinished, denied or expired screen-pairing requests are deleted 30 days after they expire. Short-lived sign-in, pairing and rate-limit records are deleted within about a day of expiry.
- Billing and financial records, including payment provider event records and their audit history, are kept indefinitely, including after you delete your account.
- Preview-allowance usage history is kept while your account exists so that usage cannot be reset.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Account in the CenterScreen iPhone or Android app, or by emailing privacy@centerscreen.app from your sign-in address (see Delete your account). We complete verified email requests within 30 days. Deletion removes your profile, sessions, paired devices, saved YouTube connections, saved YouTube results and usage history, and erases saved screen state. If you have a Stripe subscription, deletion cancels it immediately; it does not automatically refund a past payment. Serviette keeps billing and financial records indefinitely, including after account deletion. Minimal payment references (Stripe customer, payment and subscription identifiers, amounts and statuses) are retained separately from your deleted profile for payment reconciliation, accounting, tax, legal and dispute purposes. They do not include your name, email, devices or viewing history. Stripe keeps its own records of your payments under its own policies. Operational logs expire on Cloudflare’s schedule described above.
Your choices and rights
You can disconnect YouTube, revoke screens and browsers, sign out or delete your account in CenterScreen at any time. Depending on the state where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information. Email hello@centerscreen.app from your account email to make a request. We may need to verify your identity, and we may keep information where the law allows or requires, including billing and financial records. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Security
We encrypt YouTube credentials and tokens in storage, use HTTPS for every connection and limit what each credential can do. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.
Children
CenterScreen is intended only for people 17 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact hello@centerscreen.app and we will delete it.
United States only
CenterScreen is offered only in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States and other places where our service providers operate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy here with a new effective date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice, such as by email or in the app.
